At GLS we put the needs of the e-commerce world at the centre, and that is why Smart Delivery Service was born.

With this service, the recipient can choose delivery to a pick-up point at the moment the shipment leaves. If the delivery does not take place on the first attempt, due to the absence of the recipient, it is still made at the most convenient pick-up point for him/her, identified through the use of an algorithm created by GLS. The shipment remains available at the pick-up point (Parcel Shop or GLS Depot) for 10 days.

How does Smart Delivery Service work? Your customer is constantly updated on the status of his shipment thanks to an automatic system of notifications, e-mails and text messages.
He/she will receive notifications about the date and time of expected delivery, any delays, delivery notice, delivery failure and availability of the shipment at the pick-up point with its opening hours (whether he/she selects it before the first attempt, or the automatic redirection occurs).
